Damon Gilstrap was homeless and drug addicted when he arrived in Syracuse in 1989. He eventually kicked drugs with with the help of the Rescue Mission, and found love with his fiancee Angela. But tragedy struck when Damon had a stroke and was diagnosed with three brain tumors that affected his speech and left him permanently disabled. Damon's doctors told him that he would never walk again, but he would not give up. Today, he is mentoring at-risk youth, has written a book about his life, and is living with Angela and two sons in a newly purchased home in Syracuse. A story of survival.>
